Krasnov Alexey (1923-1998)

Krasnov Alexey belongs to the generation of artists in whose art history and life of Russia are reflected. In his historical and genre works he tries to express his attitude to life, fix current events in his images.

Artist was born in 1923 in Staraya Tambovka village, in Tatarstan. In 1937 entered in Izhevsk Art College. Unfortunately he couldn't move from Izhevsk and finish his education because of financial problems. In the December of 1942 Krasnov volonteered to Red Army. In 1944 was demobilized as war cripple. In the fall of 1944 Alexey Krasnov entered to the Penza Art College. Very famous painter of that time, peredvizhnik and pupil of Ivan Repin, I.Gorushkin-Sorokopudov influenced him very much.
In 1950 he entered to the Painting Faculty of the Leningrad Art Institute of I.Repin. His teachers were outstanding masters M.Avilov and Y.Neprintsev.

Independent art life of Krasnov Alexey started in Tambov, where he has gone to. The Ministry of Culture asked him to go there after graduating the Institute in 1955.

The painter took part in 31 regional, in 7 zone, in 14 republic, in 7 all-union art exhibitions. The artworks of the artist were exposed in international exhibitions in Hungary, Poland and Germany.

Artworks of Krasnov are in Tambov-city Regional Art Gallery, in Tambov Regional State Museum, in Moscow, Siberia, Hungary, Yugoslavia, the USA, Austria, Slovakia, and in private collections.
Alexey Krasnov died in 1998.
